I absolutely LOVE our pharmacists- they have the best clinical minds and are so smart! We are so blessed to have a dedicated Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist in each clinic room. They are behind the scenes and instrumental in so many clinical decisions. They know so much about each patient but usually only meet with them face to face to provide treatment education. Pharmacists are priceless!

I was interviewed about my experience with clinical oncology pharmacists and had to be honest that I only had one interaction directly with them. It was when my labs were too low for chemo and my oncologist made the call to skip that infusion. It was the pharmacist that came out to explain why.

Interesting! Our pharmacists meet with people to go over/do teaching regarding their treatments. Behind the scenes they do dose adjustments, add pre meds for nausea, etc.

Traci,

I'm glad you found it interesting. Anything in particular that stood out?

The information on the Oxaliplatin study and the slide about PET, CT PET for follow up surveillance after treatment stood out to me.

Yes! Those were very interesting to me too. It's not often I hear about a poster and then go searching for it!
